Thankfully Reading Mini-Challenge #1: What Book Are You Most Thankful For?
The first mini-challenge is being hosted by Jenn at Jenn's Bookshelves. Jenn has asked us what book we are most thankful for. Aftre giving this much thought I chose...
Little House on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder
This was the book that really helped me become the reader I am today. I read the whole series and reread the whole series many times. I just couldn't get enough of the Laura and the whole Ingalls family. I remember the time I spent with them fondly.

I never read these, for me it was Nancy Drew mysteries.
ReplyDeleteMy first grade teacher read this book and I immediately fell in love with reading too. This one was instrumental for my reading and so was Charlotte's Web.
ReplyDeleteI almost picked this myself. A very influential book on my young mind.
ReplyDeleteOh I love this series! I still have the set my mom gave to me when I was a young girl.
ReplyDeleteI devoured this as a child. Wonderful pick!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes. This is a must read book, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI read the whole series when I was younger. I was a little more than obsessed with the TV show and Michael Landon and the books. I wanted to live on the prairie!
ReplyDeleteThis was the series my grandmother gave me. Each year I would get a new book from the series for Christmas. Funny, I had moved that memory to the back of my mind. I had forgotten that I would get a book each year from her. And now, as an adult, I encourage books as gifts.
ReplyDeleteI never read these books but I know what you mean about reading and re-reading a series. I read every Nancy Drew book I could get my hands on. And I still love mysteries today.
ReplyDeleteThis is SUCH an amazing book/series! One of the very first "big" books I read by myself. Love this choice!
ReplyDeleteI really want to go back and read these series of books, along with the Oz books.
ReplyDeleteAh, I think many of us are so thankful for the books that we connected to as children. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed these as well... I remember getting the box set for my birthday one year and being obsessed for a long long time
ReplyDeleteI never actually read the Little House on the Prairie books, but I was addicted to the TV series. I liked Nelly. Probably because I was a bit of a brat myself growing up.
