Mailbox Monday November 8

Mailbox Monday is meme created by Marcia from The Printed Page. Marcia says,"Mailbox Monday is the gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists." Mailbox Monday is on tour and this months hostess is Julie from Knitting and Sundries. Thank you Julie for hosting!

This week my mailbox was empty! Nada, nothing, zip! All's good though..I have more than enough to read here. I thought I would share these titles with you. I snuck these books into my library a couple of weeks ago when I found out a local bookstore was closing it's doors. It's always sad to see a bookstore close. Things were 60% off on the last day they were open, so I picked up a few deals.

1. Lemon Meringue Pie Murder by Joanne Fluke
2. The Outermost House by Henry Beston
3. Multiple Choice by Claire Cook
4. The Lumby Lines by Gail Fraser
5. Stealing Lumby by Gail Fraser
6. Whiter Than Snow by Sandra Dallas

So what new treasures came into your house last week?

  1. Nice mailbox list. I've read a couple of Claire Cook's novels but am not familiar with Multiple Choice. I'll watch for your review.
Sorry about the book store closing but glad you found some good books.

  4. Who's Gail Fraser... going to have to look her up.

What about Lemon Meringue Pie Murder ... is that similar to Alan Bradley's style from Sweetness at the bottom of the Pie??

Let me know and have a great read girl :)

  5. Oh, wow, another Claire Cook book! I haven't heard of Multiple Choice, but I'm eager to learn more.

    Don't you love sales?

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  7. I read The Seven Year Switch by Claire Cook and thought it was great, so I bet Multiple Choice is as well. Enjoy the great bargains you got!

  8. Multiple Choice has been on my shelf for awhile. I bought it at a library sale way back, but unfortunately I haven't read it yet. Happy reading!

  11. Enjoy your books! I have Whiter Than Snow on my shelf, and I enjoyed the Lemon Meringue Pie Murder. I want to read more books by Claire Cooke.

I'm sorry the bookstore closed, but I'm glad you came home with so many good books.

  12. I usually like culinary mysteries, but for some reason I have never read one of Joanne Fluke's books...I should probably fix that :)

  13. That was such a nice thing to do! Libraries are now so under-funded that it's always good to get some new books into them. I hate seeing indie bookstores close, though. I have Whiter Than Snow in my TBR pile; I know it's supposed to be really good, but it's been waiting on me for months now!

  14. You have titles I love in there. I don't know if you've read the Lumby books yet but, I loved them. I have all but the last and it's on my Christmas list.

I also just discovered Sandra Dallas and really liked her. I want to read Whiter Than Snow.

I've read the Joanne Fluke and liked it.

Sad to hear a bookstore is going out of business but, I guess the silver lining is you got some great books at a real deal.
