Thankfully Reading Weekend 2011 Edition!
I love a good read-a-thon and I can't think of a better thing to participate in while the turkey and goodies settle and while all the shoppers are out and about scoring their bargains! I am not a Black Friday shopper! The Thankfully Reading Weekend runs from from November 25 through November 27! I have tons of reading to catch up on so I will be there! Be sure to go on over to Jenn's Bookshelves and sign up! I participated last year and had fun. I love to spend Thanksgiving weekend being cozy at home, with my nose in a book. If you do too, join in on the fun!

High Summer Read-a-thon Wrap-up
I went into the High Summer Read-a-thon with no expectations and that seemed to work well for me. I just decided to read when I could and have fun! I didn't keep track of the minutes read. I was happy with the reading I got done. I would definitely do this again! Thank you Michelle at The True Book Addict for hosting!

WWW Wednesdays July 27 / High Summer Read-a-thon Update
It's already Wednesday. We have a rainy Wednesday here. Great day for reading and a read-a-thon. It's also WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.
To play along, just answer the following three questions…
• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
Falling to Pieces(A Shipshewana Amish Mystery) by Vannetta Chapman
I was needing a lighter read after my last read so I decided to read this as it only has 11 days left on my Nook. My husband grew up not far from Shipshewana and I love it there. It'll be fun to read about a setting I am somewhat familiar with.
What did you recently finish reading?
The Orchard by Jeffrey Stepakoff
I finished The Orchard and loved it! You can read my review here.
Never Knowing by Chevy Stevens
I finished Never Knowing this afternoon. I haven't reviewed it yet but I will say that Chevy Stevens blew me away again! Wow! I hope to get the review up this week.
What do you think you’ll read next?
Dreams of Joy by Lisa See
I think this will be my next read. This is the much anticipated sequel to Shanghai Girls. I have high hopes for this one.
High Summer Read-a-thon Update
I am not keeping track of my minutes. I am trying to make this as easy and carefree as possible while getting some much needed reading done. I started yesterday and have finished one book. I am feeling inspired!
If you feel like you want might want to join in on the fun check it out here. You can start anytime and read as much or as little as you would like.

High Summer Read-a-thon
I am so bad at these read-a-thons but I have fun participating. The High Summer Read-a-thon is being hosted by Michelle at The True Book Addict. It actually has already started. I am late to the party, as always! It actually started yesterday, July 25 and runs through 11:59 pm on Sunday, July 31. Will see how well I do.
I'm starting out with the book I am reading now
Never Knowing by Chevy Stevens
I will post updates at some point this week. I think flying by the seat of my pants may work out better than having a strict plan. Wish me luck!

Winter's Respite Read-a-thon Wrapup

I am a bit late wrapping this up but life kind of got in the way. I wasn't as successful as I hoped to be but I did get two books read and one started. Not bad seeing our house was completely insane this past week. Our oldest dog has seizures and this past week has been having them about every other day. It has made it hard to concentrate on anything. I found myself rereading pages over and over again. The vet has upped the dogs medicine and we are hoping things will quiet down. Hopefully it will be easier to read this week. Thank you to Michelle at The True Book Addict for hosting the read-a-thon. Michelle will be doing another one this spring as well so keep your eyes opened for her Spring's Serenity Read-a-thon.
Books Finished
The Queen of Palmyra by Minrose Gwin
Saturday Morning by Lauraine Snelling (review yet to come)
Book Started
Room by Emma Donoghue

Winter's Respite Read-a-thon

The weather here is going to be very cold this week so this week will be a great week for reading. On that note I have decided to go ahead and join in on The Winter's Respite Read-a-thon hosted by Michelle at The True Book Addict. The event is very flexible and you can still join up. I plan on reading when I can, curled up with a cozy blanket and a cup of hot tea. I am not setting any goals, just going where the gusty, cold wind takes me. Go on over to Michelle's blog and check it out and join in on the fun!
I am halfway through The Queen of Palmyra by Minrose Gwin. I will hopefully be finishing that today after I shovel some very heavy, wet snow.

Readathon Mania!
I have a love for readathons! Any excuse to spend some quality time reading is a great idea in my book! There is nothing better than to snuggle up in your favorite sweats with a good book and a cup of tea.

I participated in this readathon last week. It was graciously hosted by Michelle at The True Book Addict. Thank you Michelle for hosting this. I finished three books last week which is great for me!
Still Missing by Chevy Stevens
The Wake of Forgiveness by Bruce Machart
Still The One by Robin Wells

The next readathon I am planning on participating is Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon. I never make the full 24 hours. My all nighter days are long gone but I will devote the day and until I fall asleep to reading. Check it out and sign up. It is a blast!

Fall Catch-up Readathon

I just caught wind of this yesterday. Today looking at my piles of books that are needing to be read, I decided to go ahead and participate as much as I can. It seems like a pretty relaxed sort of readathon. It is being hosted by Michelle at The True Book Addict.
I am hoping to finish the following books:
I'm not sure what I will read after I finish those. I tend to be a mood reader most of the time. It depends where the mood takes me next! Join in on the fun! I'll try to post some updates during the week.

TBR Readathon Wrapup

I did not do as well as I hoped to on the readathon but I was happy with what I accomplished. I did not keep track of the time I read as I go out with my dogs 12,462
times a day so I grab a few minutes here and there when I go out with them. I keep my book by the door so I can sneak in a few minutes of reading here and there. Life is so busy so I didn't get as much read as I hoped too. I still had fun though so all is good!
Books Finished
1.The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley
2.The Lovers by Vendela Vida (review here)
3.The Writing Circle by Corinne Demas
Book Started
1.Beachcombers by Nancy Thayer
I would do this readathon again and maybe be a bit more organized next time. Maybe set specific times aside to read? It did get my summer reading off to a great start! Thank you to Kristen at Bookworming For The 21st Century for hosting the TBR Readathon!

I saw this Readthon posted on a few blogs and have decided to participate as much as I can. I need to catch up on my reading. It's the first week of summer vacation here so why not start it off reading. I still will have to take care of the family, pets and the house but I will be reading as much as possible! I'm not setting a goal I will just post the books as I finish them.
Go on over to Kristen's blog and check it out!

Thankfully Reading Weekend

I read about this on someone's blog as I was blog hopping and I thought it sounded like a fantastic idea! I am so far behind on my reading and have no plans to shop this weekend so why not! I will be cooking dinner for the family on Thursday so I had planned on a quiet weekend with books, movie-watching and alot of eating at home anyway.
Thanks to Jenn from Jenn's Bookshelves for this great idea! The weekend will be very informal which I am totally loving! I am looking forward to this big time! Why not join in?
