Mailbox Monday October 24
It's Monday and we all know what that means! Mailbox Monday! This months hostess is Serena at Savvy Verse and Wit.
I survived Dewey's Read-a-thon! We should have t-shirts that say that! I managed to get three books read before conking out in the wee hours of the morning. Not bad seeing my day normally begins at 5 am. Sunday morning was painful! As soon as the dogs had been put out, fed and got their medicine, I went back to bed until 9 am! I never sleep that late. Last night we had a bad storm come through but I slept right through it all! Guess I was tired!
I only received one book this week. That is okay by me. I have many books to catch up on. I purchased this book with a coupon. I can't pass up a good book or a good coupon!
What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty
Hardcover: 432 pages
Publisher: Amy Einhorn Books/Putnam; Book Club (BCE/BOMC) edition (June 2, 2011)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 0399157182
ISBN-13: 978-0399157189
Alice Love is twenty-nine years old, madly in love with her husband, and pregnant with their first child. So imagine her surprise when, after a fall, she comes to on the floor of a gym (a gym! she HATES the gym!) and discovers that she's actually thirty-nine, has three children, and is in the midst of an acrimonious divorce.
A knock on the head has misplaced ten years of her life, and Alice isn't sure she likes who she's become. It turns out, though, that forgetting might be the most memorable thing that has ever happened to Alice.
That is what I received last week. What wonderful books made their way into your home?

What I Forgot is such a good read! I hope you enjoy it too!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on surviving the readathon. The one time I participated as a reader I was wiped out for weeks afterward, so I've been participating in other ways since then (cheerleader or mini challenge host). Makes me long for those college days when I could pull all-nighters without batting an eye.
A slow week is good... it's the only way I can even attempt to catch up.
ReplyDeleteWhat Alice Forgot is on my wishlist too.
I'm very curious about this book too. Have a great week!

ReplyDeleteHi Beth,
ReplyDeleteWell done on getting through three books, you must have been shattered on Sunday.
My day usually starts before 5am and in that first hour, whilst I have my breakfast and a mug of strong black coffee, is when I get most of my reading done.
'What Alice Forgot' sounds like a great read, although I'm not sure whether it is going to be a fun one, or not! I look forward to your review, to see if it is a storyline that is meant to be taken seriously.
Yvonne
Congrats on your read-a-thon! What a great way to tackle a TBR list. And your new book sounds like an interesting one to add to it!
ReplyDeleteMy TBR is getting longer by the minute
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting NotJustReading. I see you have What Alice Forgot - that one's waiting for me too :)
ReplyDeleteMy health problems are on-going (I have Bipolar Disorder) but I'm feeling much better at the moment, thanks :)
This one is already on my wishlist, but I've made a vow not to buy any new books until my TBR shelves are no longer double-stacked! :)
