Sunday Salon March 11
I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday! It is gorgeous here today and should be all week! Temperatures are in the 60's! It feels like spring!
Not much reading going on here, unfortunately. I am adjusting to working again. I love my job and love my co-workers! It's hard work but it makes the night go by so quickly! Never a dull moment! I should get my schedule this week and then will have a day off during the week and work every other weekend. I never thought I would say this but it feels great to be working again! I miss my kids but we seem to appreciate each other a bit more. My kids have been fabulous at stepping up to the plate around the house. I am very proud of them!
I hope to come up with a realistic schedule for the blog after I fall into a routine. There are some days my computer sits idle which never happened before! I have an enormous stack of books to read and hope to start catching up on them soon.
In the meantime, I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday!

Sunday Salon February 26
It has been a crazy week for me. I had a physical for my new job and found out my cholesterol was a bit high. I am trying to make some life changes and make some healthier choices. So far, so good.
I did get one book read this week and I have started another. I finished The Orchid House by Lucinda Riley. Click on the title to see my review. I started Maisie Dobbs by Jacqueline Winspear. So far it is very good!
Today is my last day of being a stay at home mom before I start work. I am doing stuff around the house and catching up on blogs. I've kind of gotten behind on blogs this week.
How is your Sunday going?

Sunday Salon
Happy Sunday everyone! Thank you all for your well wishes and congratulations on my new job! I sure appreciate it! This is my last week as a stay at home mom. If all goes well with my paperwork and physical, I will start working on the 27th. I will be working second shift and every other weekend plus some holidays. I am excited and at the same time a bit of my heart is breaking. I have loved being a stay at home mom. Being a mom has been my most important job. I will learn to juggle it all just like working moms do. It will be an adjustment but we will manage. Now I will get to see what the flip side of that coin is like!
On the reading front, I am still working on The Orchid House by Lucinda Riley. The book was originally published under the title Hothouse Flower in the U.K. It reminds me a bit of my favorite show Downton Abbey. It is good and I hope to get it done today.
Speaking of Downton Abbey, the season finale is tonight! I hear we are in for some twists and turns! I am sad to see the season come to an end but at least I won't be missing any episodes on the weekends that I will have to work. Shirley MacLaine is joining the cast next season! I can't wait to see what she will bring to Downton Abbey!
I am planning on a quiet day today. Our younger dog had a seizure this morning. He has them periodically. He has been on new medicines which seemed to have them under control, until this morning. He is resting now so I am keeping the house quiet. It will be a good day to sit with him and read. Hopefully, the rest of the day will be uneventful.
I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

Sunday Salon
This week brought our first real snowfall this winter. We saw about 7 inches of the stuff. After being in the 50's the day before, it was a bit disheartening. But it is the Midwest and we have been very fortunate to get this far without the white stuff. I did enjoy playing with the dog in it for about 15 minutes. Once I was wet and cold, I was ready for spring! I am such a wimp!
I finished two books this week. I finally finished Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I loved The Hunger Games but this book dragged for me in the beginning. It finished big though so I will have to read Mockingjay. I will review it this week, hopefully.
The other book I read and adored was The Thorn and The Blossom: A Two Sided Love Story by Theodora Goss. Be sure to check out my review here.
I also posted a giveaway for One Moment, One Morning by Sarah Rayner. Be sure to enter here! The giveaway ends January 24 and is open to readers in Canada and the US(sorry to my international followers, this is from the publisher).
Other than that my week was quiet until I started to hear all types of buzzing about a certain PBS series called Downton Abbey. Perhaps you have heard of it? I decided to check it out after seeing it posted on so many blogs and spoken of quite highly. I am now addicted and am all caught up on season 1 and 2 and ready for a fresh episode tonight. Thank you all for posting your love for this series! I would have hated to miss it!
Today is my mom's birthday. She is 87 today. We will be celebrating with her today! I bought her some new books by her favorite authors, Debbie Macomber and Robin Carr and also a DVD of The Help, since she enjoyed the book. I think it is awesome that my mom is still going strong at her age. She has had a few blips this past year but she is doing great!
I need to check out the new commenting system available on blogger. I see many have switched over. If you have, do you like it? I sure would love to be able to reply on the comments left on my blog. Some days I try to email a response but on some comments you can't do that since the poster doesn't have that enabled. Let me know what you think of the new system. I may give it a try later this week.
Have a great Sunday!
