Saying Goodbye is Never Easy!

Last night we said goodbye to our beloved Cooper. He had some serious health problems and I was trying to be brave and make the decision to put him down. I was having a hard time letting him go. Last night while I was at work, he decided his body had had enough and he left us suddenly. I am sad and heartbroken but I know he is in a better place where he is no longer in pain. Our other dog Jake is a bit lost today without his little buddy. We all feel a bit empty and sad today. The house seems a bit quieter than normal. We will be okay in time. RIP Cooper! You were the best dog a gal could have!

    I am so so sorry! I know how difficult it is to lose a pet because they're a member of your family.

    Oh Beth! I know what it's like to lose a beloved fur family member. We lost Bruce last August and it devastated us!! Cooper was loved and I'm sure he loved you all back unconditionally...that's what is so wonderful about our dogs, isn't it? I will be keeping you in my thoughts!

      Thank you Staci. I think many of us bloggers know this pain all too well. I am trying to focus on the great memories we have of Cooper. They are carrying us through this difficult time.

    Losing a pet is like losing a family member. They ARE a part of your family. Nothing that we say can make the grieving any easier. I'm just so so sorry. God bless that little guy.

      Thank you Sandy. We made a cute little memorial to Cooper in our backyard. It has helped ease the pain a bit.

    Oh Beth ... I am so incredibly sorry that you've lost your beloved friend. Bless Cooper's little heart for holding on for so long. Your love remains in his heart and it always will.

    I'm so sorry Beth. I know how hard it is to lose a pet. When you love animals they are part or your family and their loss is so hard. I still have a hard time with Buddy's passing. I'm sure Cooper knew how much he was loved. Hugs to you all.

      Thank you Dar! I know how much you struggled with Buddy's death. If our little guys could have survived on our love alone, they both would still be with us. Their poor little bodies just couldn't keep on going. It has been a sad weekend but we are beginning to see that he is pain free and no longer suffering. Hugs back to you!

    I'm so sorry about Cooper. I also have a beagle, and this breaks my heart. My beagle is like my child, and he's 8 years old. I get so scared when I think about loosing him.

    I'm so sorry about Cooper. It's so hard to lose our pets and I've been through it many times. It breaks my heart but I wouldn't be without them. My mom just had to put her golden retriever to sleep so we have been thinking of ways to help her with a nice memorial as well.

    I am so, so sorry to hear about Cooper. He sounds like a wonderful dog who will be very missed. Letting go of our pets is so hard. Hang in there.
