Sorry I have been missing in action for a few days! I was getting my day underway early Thursday morning when I got a phone call saying my sister's bar/restaurant was on fire. I spent the day with her and her family. It was a rough day for them. It was a bad fire but no one was injured and that is the most important thing. They were closed and the tenant upstairs got out safely. Hopefully they will be able to rebuild. My sister and her husband have poured their heart and soul into their place. They have done some beautiful things with the building. My heart goes out to them. But I am sure it will be just as fabulous when they get done rebuilding!
I got home from the fire a bit after 8 Thursday night only to have a horrible storm blow through. The wind knocked out the power. No one is sure what kind of storm it was. It acted like a tornado but I don't know what they have decided it was since we had no cable, tv or internet for a couple of days. We were lucky, as many have trees down and damage to their homes. We were okay. Our power finally came back on Saturday around noon.
Then the dog had a seizure. I am hoping the rest of the holiday weekend will be quiet and I can catch up on blogs and reading.
I hope you all are having a good holiday weekend as well!

Oh my gosh, so sorry about the fire. I'm glad no one was hurt! I hope they can rebuild. My parents went through a fire with their business about 20 years ago. It's such an emotional experience on so many levels. My thoughts are with you all.
ReplyDeleteAnd your poor dog. I'm glad you didn't have storm damage but wow, no power for a couple of days?? That had to be uncomfortable. I hope you can have a relaxing weekend.
They say bad things come in threes, so hopefully they're over for you for a while. I'm so sorry about the fire - I can only imagine how devastated your sister and brother in law are.
ReplyDeleteOMG...how awful.I can't think of anything positive to say...sorry
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Thank goodness everyone was ok with the fire. I hope things settle down now, and that your dog is doing ok....
ReplyDeleteI have a 14 year old schih tzu that has had trouble breathing on and off the last couple of weeks, he has an appointment tomorrow and I am so afraid of what it could be.
My gosh, you certainly had your share of trouble this weekend; hope that was your quota of bad stuff for a while!
ReplyDeleteHow devastating for your sister and her husband; hope they can recover their business soon.
Oh, no! Thankfully no one was hurt. Hope things start looking up for you all!
